The Boquete Gourmet Interview

Name of your website?

The Boquete Gourmet

Your name?

Cora Kent

Your Location (city, etc)

Boquete

Please give us a short summary of your website?

Living is Boquete, Panama, brings with it a series of challenges. What to eat, where to go and how to enjoy the riches found here. As a former real estate attorney and teacher from Florida, I want to grow artistically and culturally, to generate and participate in activities here, and to learn to cook 'goourmet" using local ingredients. I'm striving to do all those things and more. Watch how I do it at www.boquetegourmet.com. www.boquetegourmet.com. ~~

What inspired you to launch your own website?

By sharing the riches found in Boquete, I find a creative outlet, as well as meeting new readers and developing my sense of actualization.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

This is my first and only website. I just completed my 100th blog, after 6 months of finding my place.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

Gourmet cooking and dining have always been a hobby for me. When traveling, the first place I look for is a fine restaurant. I seek out wines and beers of the country and enjoy the finest foods available. Boquete produces the finest coffee and produce in the world. It's the perfect place for a "gourmet", and I'm it!

What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?

My blogs are about my life and what I see and do in Boquete, Panama. The fine quality of life available here is wanted by everyone in the world. I tell about it, so everyone can see a bright future, wherever they are. "Gourmet" living is available everywhere.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

"Boquete Gourmet Community Cookbook" will be on the shelves in June. I'd like to write an annual cookbook, progressing as Boquete lives and grows. There are possible products to offer, a cooking school to develop, cultural exchange programs, travel possibilities, land development, the sky's the limit!

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

I don't consider my time or money when considering my success. My success is based on my creativity, my personal growth and pleasure brought to my readers.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

Webcasting development is out there somewhere. If anyone could watch our tours, cooking classes or events while they are happening, that would be very helpful to opening up a whole new audience.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the dend?

Yes, sure!

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

none, I'm going step-by-step, learning as I go.

What has been your biggest challenge?

To learn how to use the amenities available to me. I'm now only using a small portion of possibilities available, ie pings and dings.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Sharing links with other bloggers.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

It takes a bit more time than I expected to keep up with the pace, especially when I'm try to incorporate social media, as well.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

As long as I'm incorporating other activities into my site, like cooking classes, gourmet tours and product sales, I will continue to grow and prosper.

Replace this with a question of your own

What's my favorite aspect of my blog? Unexpectedly, folks stop me on the street and ask if I'm the "Boquete Gourmet". I've gotten a "free lunch", and everything I've asked for in this position. That's an absolute HOOT!!!! I'm a whole new person, living an idyllic life in an enchanted place, Boquete, Panama!

What is your website address?

The Boquete Gourmet
