  • Tourism Minister Ruben Blades flew to Los Angeles in time with the carnival to do some international business.
  • Panama City Mayor Juan Carlos Navarro overruled the Carnival Director Mingthoy Giro for its decision to move the Carnival celebration to Avenida Balboa this year to restore the capital's festivities in line with the usual location at Via Espana.
