Over time, the cost of living in Costa Rica has shot up due to the saturation of the real estate market. It is just normal, I think, since it has become such a super destination for tourists and expats.
Because of the rising costs, expats have started to look for cheaper alternatives hence, Panama.
Beware, however, as Panama may not be as cheap as you think, but it is still cheaper than Costa Rica, nevertheless.
