"Casco Viejo," is the place in Central America that is known as the Old Quarter in Panama City. Upon arrival into the Tocumen International Airport, travelers would soon understand the importance of the United States to this Central American country.

Still, long after America handed over the Panama canal back to the Panamanians in the the year nineteen hundred and ninety nine. The official paper currency of which Panama still uses today would be that of the US dollar as well as of the US coin which are surprisingly called "balboas".
