Panama Referrals attempts to make doing business in this Central American Country easy, as we offer a turnkey services. They include realty with an individual who is fluent in both English and Spanish. If a foreigner decides to purchase property, it can be very difficult to manage that property from far away. Therefore, we will set up a management plan that will fulfill that individuals needs. We will refer them to a reputable law firm, assist in setting up a bank account. In essence, we can assist that individual with whatever their needs may be.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
About three years ago, I purchased my first Panamanian property. I did not know where to find a realtor, especially one that spoke English. I had no experience with their legal system. I did not know where to go to get the power or water turned on, how to establish a bank account........the list goes on and on! In essence, I wanted to offer people a service whereby they would feel more comfortable with purchasing property in a foreign country and have these services provided to them in an a la carte manner.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
We spent a great deal of time trying to network with reputable Panamanian business entities in order to establish and launch our website. Panama Referrals seemed like an appropriate name since we are essentially providing people with individuals and businesses that can assist them with their needs.
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
I do not know of any other website that offers a turnkey operation. It is easy for anyone to peddle real estate. But what happens once your money is wired internationally and the keys to the unit are handed over to you? If you don't speak Spanish you are at a disadvantage from day one. We assist the individual from the moment they get off the airplane to the time that they are back at home collecting their passive rental income from the cash machine down the corner from their house.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
We have established a network of reliable and reputable individuals and companies that are able to assume the demand of additional volume without sacrificing the quality service that our satisfied clientele has received to date as is reflected by our repeat customers.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Website marketing costs have surpassed our expectations. There are many charlatans out there that will promise you the world.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Trying to compete with web companies that provide inferior service
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
Most people work 9-5 but the internet is a 24/7 operation. Our phones will ring at any hour of the day or night. We did not anticipate that.
