Panama Magazine

Your name?

Arthur Hawk

Your Location (city, etc)

Panama

Please give us a short summary of your website?

Panama Magazine is the planet's only multi media Travel/Lifestyle magazine from Panama. Read in 71 countries monthly via FREE subscription. Filled with great articles, supurb photos and incredible videos plus 100's of live links. Seeing is believing!

What inspired you to launch your own website?

I'm the founder and CEO of TravelerPress, a publishing company dedicated to changing the way people view Travel guides. We currently publish multi media guides in Panama, Costa Rica, Bali and soon Thailand.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

I launched my first site about one year ago, www.panamamagazine.net

How did you decide on a name for your website?

In order to build the brand, all my publications start with the country name ie: panamamagazine, costaricamagazine, balimagazine

What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?

We publish the planet's ONLY multi media Travel/Lifestyle guides monthly or bi-monthly totally free via subscription

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

I hope to be able to licence my magazines in many countries around the world-it's my retirement project!

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

I spend at least 12 hours per day on Design, developement and promotion. The success and payoff is 3 years away.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I would hire and train an office full of designers

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

YES!

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

Most headaches arise from cultural differences in the countries I go to to start a new publication. One must lear as much as possible about the culture in order to be successful

What has been your biggest challenge?

My biggest challenge has been to find competant and TRUSTWORTHY employees.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

SEO..many hours are devopted to driving traffic to my websites

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

1000% more work!!

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

One year with no end in site

What is your website address?

Panama Magazine
